Applying the Design Methods

To systematically address user needs, guide the design process, and ensure effective solutions, each method—whether user research, prototyping, or usability testing—adds value at different stages, helping us gain insights, validate ideas, and refine designs to align with user expectations. Using structured methods ensures that the design process is purposeful, evidence-based, and aligned with project goals.

A Greener Perspective: Enhancing Botanical Garden Experiences

In this project, we identified the need for a system to assist users with plant care by monitoring plant health in real time. After researching user needs, we designed a system integrating sensors, a camera, and a mobile app, enabling the collection and display of data on key plant parameters like soil moisture, temperature, and light. We developed and tested prototypes to ensure accurate data and ease of use, resulting in an interactive tool that empowers users to make informed care decisions for plants within the botanical garden and beyond.
